Garden

Working towards self-sustainability

The land for the garden was purchased in hopes of assisting the nutritional needs of community members, many of whom are malnourished. The land was cleared and prepared for planting by a team of volunteers from the church. It was an impressive display of cooperation as men, women, and children were all involved.

The current crops include: beans, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and carrots, as well as coconuts, bananas, mangoes, avocados and coffee, which will provide protein, carbohydrates, and vitamins. The harvested crops are currently used to help feed the students of the school. In the future the plan is to use the crops for outreach to the church members and the community at large.
